Isn’t it Ironic?

08 Jan

Today I’m cleaning house.

Ugh.

The going joke in our house is “Let me know when you get rich, Honey.”  Because the first thing we’re gonna do is get a maid.

I hope it happens soon.

As I’m cleaning our third bathroom, I’m thinking to myself – we have way too many bathrooms.  It takes me at least an hour to clean them all.  Longer if I actually do a good job.  🙂

When I finally finished, I put all the supplies back in the cabinet then went to my bathroom to use it.  It was occupied with child #2.

So I go to the guest bathroom…. occupied by child #4.

REALLY???  I have to go downstairs to pee?

Halfway down the stairs I see that that bathroom door is closed.  Behind it is child #3, I’m sure.

I stomp back up the stairs.  “Honey!”  I yelled.  “We don’t have enough bathrooms!”

You could always fix up a outhouse in the backyard (just a thought). We’ve got 2.5 bathrooms and at times it did not seem to be enough, but, since junior has left the nest, we have ample “capacity”, They don’t get as much use as they have in the past, but they seem to require just as much cleaning (go figure). Seems like if you were the one to do the cleaning, you should have first dibs on the rooms.

And oh BTW – in the spirit of sharing chores, I handle the porcelain thrones,

I totally agree that I should have had first dibs on the bathroom. It strikes me as funny that everyone needs to use the bathroom right after I’ve cleaned it. The cat does the same thing. As soon as I clean his litter, he’s in the box using it.
And good for you for “handling the porcelain thrones.” My husband would do it if I asked him to… but since I was a stay-at-home mom for so long, I did most of the household chores. Now that I’m back at work, we share some of the chores, but I have continued with the bathrooms. Lucky me, right?

It’s a Catch 22! We only have two bathrooms and I have the hardest time keeping them clean. I can’t imagine having more to clean! And yet, there always seems to be someone waiting outside a bathroom door for their turn.

Bahahaha that is too funny. Maybe they all got together to play a trick on you. We have two bathrooms and mainly use just ours, and they are relatively small so they are pretty easy to clean, but still a pain.

Ha! It’s like they’re all waiting in ambush! We have two bathrooms and that’s plenty enough for me to clean, thanks. I’m willing to hold it when necessary rather than clean any more.

We have 2 here too and like you said : too many to clean. In one we have a air jet tub and I just hate having to get in it too clean it because it is too larger. Everytime I think “we don’t need this tub” loll

Like you said above, it’s funny how no one wants to use the bathroom until you’ve gone to all the work of making it spotless. Kinda like how it never rains until the day after you wash your car.
