What’s Wrong with this Picture

17 May

Remember a few weeks ago?

I was stressed….

Lots going on at work….

Lots going on at home…..

But the 7th and 8th grade dance was waiting for no one….

so we HAD to find the perfect dress in less than two hours after already shopping for days on end?

And she stepped out of the dressing room of the last store, and I cried with relief, and off we went with lots of change in my pockets?

Well, all those hours and tears were well worth it!  She fit right in with the rest of the girls in her class – all beautiful and grown up.

I feel bad for the moms of the 8th grade boys, though.  They missed out on all  that fun……

She looks great in that dress – no wonder you were so pleased with it!

Yeah, boys get it much easier…

Out of the zillions of dresses we tried on, this was definitely the favorite.
The boys get it easier – and their mom’s do for sure!

She’s got fantastic shoulders!! I did too, once. *sniff* But, mothers of little boys don’t have to pay out a lot of money for a dress and stress, time and time again.

My daughter has three older brothers, so yes, we saved lots of money and TIME! So much easier!
Mario’s dress may have taken eons to find, but in the end it cost less than $10. Last minute shopping pays off!

Well, look at her! I’d never know that was a “bargain basement” dress. You rock! And yeah, what’s with those boys?? Only one of them even has buttons on his shirt! (I’m not complaining)

I don’t know about “rock”. I think my guardian angel realized I was about ready to lose it. so she stepped in at the last minute to save the day.
My boys never dressed up for this dance either. But Amp attends a lot of dances with his old grade school buddy, and he dresses up to the nines for them. At least he will wear the same suit over and over again.

Now that’s funny! The girls went all out (as girls tend to do.) And the boys? Well, I’m guessing the khakis are their idea of “dressed up.”

Mario and her friends look beautiful!

Some of the girls even had their hair done. This dance was a big deal to THEM. Luckily Mario was okay doing her own. (We saved the big up-do for graduation. Those pics will be posted soon. )
I remember my boys not getting all dressed up for this dance, but I guess I never really paid attention to what the girls in their class wore – so this picture had me cracking up!

Wow. All the girls look elegant! Especially Mario. Way more classy than the boys wore. I guess the boys did have it a bit easier. At least they wore clean shirts even if they looks like a Nike sale clerk. .

Yeah – CLEAN was the fashion sense they were going for. Sparkly was what the girls were after. They both succeeded. 🙂
