Not totally wasted if I blogged. Right?

08 Mar

Had an unexpected day off today.  I’m not made for unexpected days off.  Spontaneity is not usually my friend,  so I’ve done nothing.

Well actually, I spent hours working on my latest puzzle.  And I DO mean hours.  But look at it!

At 2000 pieces, it’s double the size of any that I’ve done. Very fun!

I peeled myself away for a bit to shoot pool with my hubby.  And I really wanna go back and work on it some more, but my blog needs some attention too.

This month marks the 25th anniversary of my hubby and me.   To celebrate we’re driving down to Florida for some spring training Cardinals baseball.

\We leave in a few weeks, and I totally should have been using today to prepare, but like I said, spontaneity and I don’t mix.

In other news, Mario almost has her groove back.  It’s been a long haul, but after a few more tweaks to her ball, she’s doing much better.

And dare I say Chip and Amp are liking their classes?  For the first time in, like, EVER, Amp was excited about a school project.  We may actually get through this!  (Fingers crossed!)

We’re still down an elevator at the hotel.  After two months, we thought we were going to finally have the first one finished, but the inspectors crashed it during the inspection.  Seriously.  Ran it right into the ceiling.  (Or whatever is above it.) So we’re looking at another week or so of repairs before they can test again.  Sigh.  Our guests can only keep patient for so long.

But we made it through a weekend of three bus groups and many individuals.  With some ingenuity, (thanks to yours truly), we managed to unload all the luggage from the buses and get everyone upstairs in a pretty quick manner, despite only having one elevator.  I was proud of my idea and received many kudos.  And proud of the team for making it work.

So things are going well.  It’s beginning to look and feel and sound like spring around here.  Perhaps winter is on its way out the door?  I’m not feeling too hopeful yet, but I must say, I’m getting quite used to this.

A surprise day off! Kinda tough to plan for… so thanks for turning it into blog post day :). And now I wish I had a warm-place trip to look forward to. Maybe I should plan. Someplace that doesn’t have elevators that crash into ceilings.

It’s looking like we may get the elevator back tomorrow. I’m a little nervous. It failed it’s second test as well, but at least it didn’t crash. Third time’s a charm!? I don’t think I wanna be the first to try it.
Pretty lame blog post, but it’s a post none the less.

Love the jigsaw, that looks like a load of fun!

I’m not a great fan of lifts (elevators) and now I’ve read your post I like them even less! I think my biggest fear is that they’ll crash into the ceiling, or maybe worse just fly straight through the roof!

You had a similar jigsaw, didn’t you? I love this one. So much going on. Complex, but not overly so.
I am not a fan of elevators either, but when you work in a hotel, you kinda gotta get over it. I’m very nervous about trying the new one out for the first time though. Wish me luck!

Yes I did a similar one but mine was shaped but less pieces!

And did you survive the elevator trip? 😀

Ahhh! Florida! I know you’re thrilled about that! We passed on an invite to go to Mexico with friends this year. All week long, they sent pics and texts about how wonderful it was. Maybe next year I’ll be able to visit someplace warm again in the winter.

Love the puzzle! I keep saying I’d love to do one, but I think I need to paint the walls first and a million other things that need doing.

Glad to hear Mario is getting her groove back! I don’t have a groove this year. I’ll bowl a great game one time and be in the tank again the next. But I’ve given up any hope that I do this seriously enough to be “good.” Just having fun.

We’ve had a pretty mild winter, but I’m still looking forward to heading south.
I can vouch that nothing gets done once I start on the puzzle. I try to get my work done first, but some days, nothing gets done. 🙂
Glad to hear bowling is still fun for you. Even without your groove. I always took it too seriously which took the fun out of it. Now I have fun through Mario. 🙂

2000 pieces! I’ve never done one with that many pieces. Most of mine have been 1000, with a 500 or 1500 thrown in here and there. I average about 2 per year. I find it very relaxing, but I don’t do any that are very difficult, like two puzzles in one box and both have lots of blue sky. 🙂

Two puzzles in one box? There’s such a thing? I’m with you. It sounds too complicated.
The 2000 piece puzzle was just challenging enough. Although there were a lot of pieces, there was a lot going on in the puzzle – not just blue sky. And yeah, it’s very relaxing. 🙂
